ALOHA! This has been my view for the last 6 days. I accompanied my husband on a business trip in Hawaii. While he worked I went to Starbucks and had my coffee at the beach, went shopping and took long walks on the Beach! One afternoon I found my self at the Hilton in Waikiki outside on the Patti eating a sorry excuse for a chicken Cesar but OOOOOOOOOH was that Mai Tai good.

When Paul was done working we just spent time together. It was like we were just married. Hawaii has a way of doing that to you. I think they put something in the air. You are so relaxed and loving you just think your drugged or something. My children were here cared for by Grandma & Grandpa Carter. Word is they all did great. Although, I was a little worried this morning when I got up at 6:30 am after returning in the middle of the night from our trip and G & G were both dressed ready to hit the road. But, the assured me they had fun and that my kids were very respectful to them. For this I am truly grateful.

I feel so blessed to have had this time with Paul. It had been before Rachel was born that we did anything like this and it was awesome. Sometimes you get so caught up with life as a parent that you forget why you even married the person you are with. When you take a fun trip like this it all comes flooding back at lightening speed and in a healthy relationship you realize not only why you married the one you are with but, how far you have grown as husband and wife. It was the best trip I have ever taken and it was a glimpse of what is to come as we continue our journey!

MAHALO
