9/11! Almost everyone I know remembers where they were on the day when the twin towers went down by terrorist attacks. Who would have thought. Now we know better, so much better, it can happen to us. Austin was so little. In 2nd grade. Mama he said "can they get kids while they are walking to school?"
Most of the time I don't watch all the trauma that goes on around us. If I did surely I would be more overwhelmed than I sometimes feel today. But this time I just couldn't stop watching. I needed information. I needed to know what made them so mad at us? We are such nice people aren't we?
We take for granted every day that most of us here in the United States live in the top 5% of the world as far as getting our needs met. We have food, shelter, and love. Without food and shelter there can not be love. Without love there is only hate. I have learned in reading about this that the terrorists are many times for the first time, getting not only food and shelter when they agree to this attacking behavior, but are also getting a sense of belonging for the first time.
Furthermore, what would we do if we lived under those exact same conditions and then were offered something we had been longing for since birth (something they think is love)! Another thought, what would those same hateful people do if they grew up in our neighborhoods?
